When life throws you curve balls...

Hey Luvs!
So this is not the post I had planned but after the week I had, that one can wait!
If you have been keeping up with my socials (@breneetierra on IG&twitter) you have seen my new business venture that I launched! For those who haven't about a month ago I became a business owner, offering Virtual Assistant services such as Administrative assistance and Social Media Management for non-profit and small business owners.

Running a business of any kind is hard work, but starting a business from scratch on your own can be EXHAUSTING, especially if you're still working full time! Since starting my own business it has helped me become more of a planner and to focus more on my organization and productivity skills. Ive told you guys this before but i'm a THINKER and this causes me to easily lose focus on certain tasks and start new ones. To avoid this I now take the time out every Sunday and write out everything I have planned for that week, not just major events, deadlines, and meetings though! I use my planner for those major dates (usually already written down in advance), I also have a journal that I use to jot down the small tasks business and personal, this gives me more space to go into detail. What I try to do is plan my week out on paper so I get everything done and can focus on specific tasks each day.

Okay fast forwarding to my crazy week!!
Over the weekend I hadn't been feeling well, but I didn't pay it too much attention. Monday I ended up going to Urgent care and found out I was having some health complications. Immediately I started to think about all the stuff I knew I had to get done. After getting home and settled I tried to do some work, but my body just wasn't having it. I figured I'd take some meds, rest and tomorrow will be all good and I can get some work done. Sounded real good..... except my body was not on the same page!!!!!
When I woke up the following morning I knew nothing was getting done, I barely even made it into work. In that moment I had to come to terms that It was affecting me more than I knew. Although I had a list of sh* to get done, I couldn't focus on that. I HAD TO FOCUS ON ME!
At that moment I had to give myself the prep talk lol "Look sis you gotta get back to 100%, before you invest energy anywhere other than yourself" lol
And that's what I did! For the first time I put myself over money, work, and other people to make sure that I was good and i'm so proud of myself for it.
Although i'm not at 100% yet, taking a few days off for ME helped my mental and physical health. This week helped me to learn that despite what you are working towards make sure your practicing self care and keeping your self first.
SO NOW I KNOW "WHEN LIFE THROWS ME CURVEBALLS, DUCK OR SWING AT THE MOTHERF*CKER" LOL

Listen to your body.
Drink lots of water.
Incorporate a healthy diet.
Take breaks.
Get enough rest.
If you give your all to everyone else, you won't have anything left for yourself <3
What can you do to make sure your practicing self care?
